Investing in People

Building Conservation Capacity Through Online Learning

At Tsavo Trust, we believe that strong conservation outcomes begin with empowered people. That is why we are investing in the growth and development of our team.

With generous support from Tsavo Trust’s founding board member, Stuart Herd, thirteen staff members recently completed a diverse range of professional short courses through the Edyouvid, a flexible and affordable online learning platform.

From project management and leadership to entrepreneurship, first aid, critical thinking, Microsoft Excel, and change management, staff across departments sharpened their skills—boosting both their personal growth and Tsavo Trust’s capacity to deliver lasting conservation impact in the Tsavo Conservation Area.

“Edyouvid made learning easy and engaging. Just a short video and a few questions, and I was already grasping new concepts. I never imagined online learning could be this effective.” – Patrick Mutua, Tsavo Trust Assistant Community Officer.

“The Critical thinking course taught me how to assess options more clearly and make effective decisions, especially in challenging situations.” – Johnson Parkusaa, Tsavo Trust Head of Security.

To further support digital learning, Stuart Herd also donated two laptops to Kamungi Conservancy, enabling continued access to education for the local community members.

Looking ahead, and subject to funding, Tsavo Trust plans to establish a community ICT hub in Kamungi Conservancy, a space where local people can access digital learning resources and build the skills needed to take part in conservation and sustainable development.

We are proud of our team’s commitment to continuous learning and deeply grateful to Stuart Herd for believing in the power of people to drive conservation forward.
